Fredericktown Area Public Library:


The Board of Trustees of the Fredericktown Area Public Library invites applications for the position of Library Director.  Our library is located along the Monongahela River in Fredericktown, Pa. and serves Beallsville, Centerville and Deemston Boroughs, East Bethlehem Township and the Bethlehem-Center School District.   We are a member of the Washington County Library System.    This position involves a 26-hour work week.

The director should have a thorough knowledge of public library practices and procedures; the ability to communicate effectively with the staff, Board of Trustees, municipal officials, community and pertinent organizations; the ability to prepare required reports on all aspects of library operation; a strong working knowledge of technology and, in partnership with the Board of Trustees, support fundraising and community marketing projects.

Minimum educational requirements:  Library Assistant certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Education or equivalent by another state to the satisfaction of the State Librarian,   or two (2) academic years of college education and willingness to take nine (9) library science credits required for certification.
